PARLOTONES, GANGS, BALLET…ALL IN ONE DAY…

The OLD MUTUAL MUSIC AT THE LAKE SERIES presents the SAMA-award winning and one of South Africa’s biggest bands , THE PARLOTONES at the Durban Botanic Gardens on the 15th of April.

The Old Mutual Music at the Lake series is set to continue its brilliant 2012 line-up when THE PARLOTONES take to the stage on the 15th of April for a mesmerising performance in the beautiful natural setting of the Botanic Gardens in Durban.
This performance takes place less than one month before THE PARLOTONES launch their fourth studio album, Journey Through the Shadows, on the 8th of May, 2012. The new album was recorded in Johannesburg and Cape Town during the final months of 2011 and includes 12 brand new tracks of their undeniable romantic and anthemic rock sound, while offering several surprises along the way.

The album launch will be followed by another great adventure for one of South Africa’s biggest bands. Following a massive touring year in 2011 that trekked through America, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Austria, Switzerland, Japan and their home country, THE PARLOTONES  are set to embark on  a 27-city tour of the United States. The tour kicks off in California on the 17th of May. But before all of this, THE PARLOTONES are ready to see to it that their Durban-based fans have the time of their lives.

The undefinable GANGS OF BALLET will be starting off the festivities on the day. The Durban-based band is comprised of four talented musicians who have managed to combine their various individual tastes and styles to create a sound that is captivatingly fresh – the guys are set to blow the crowd away with their eclectic sound.
With a stellar line-up such as this, fans can expect a perfect day in the sun filled with awesome music and great times in the Gardens. “We are always excited to see artists of this calibre perform at the Durban Botanic Gardens and in doing so, contributing to sustained national biodiversity,” said Joy Khaole, Old Mutual’s head of sponsorships.

The Old Mutual Music at the Lake series presents live concerts every month throughout the year at the Durban Botanic Gardens and all proceeds from the performances go towards an innovative people and plant development programme, the Garden Window Project, within the Durban Botanic Gardens.
